GOKID CARPOOL APP ANNOUNCES PUBLIC BETA

Aims to save time and money for parents of 50 million US children

  • App facilitates organization and management of carpools making life easier for busy families.
  • “Everyone wins with GoKid, fewer cars on the road means less traffic and emissions for the whole community, and parents gain valuable time,” says Stefanie Lemcke, founder of GoKid.

NEW YORK, May 10, 2016 — GoKid today announced the open beta release of their family carpool app in the App Store. GoKid is a productivity app facilitating carpooling for parents, helping to drastically reduce traffic and emissions. GoKid will allow parents to easily set up free shared rides for their children, with drivers they know and trust—fellow parents. The app includes automated invitations and route plotting, family accounts, in-app notifications, and automatic alerts.

The app not only facilitates easy integrated scheduling and creates more time in the lives of busy parents, but it also encourages more people to carpool, thus saving money, improving air quality, and decreasing traffic congestion by reducing the number of vehicles on the road.

“GoKid will drastically reduce traffic and emissions globally by facilitating carpooling for millions of parents and children, saving them time and money,” said the company’s founder, Stefanie Lemcke.

GoKid’s initial target market is the parents and caretakers of the 50 million school-age children in the United States. 33 million US school children are also playing organized sports.  As part of the global sharing economy and cities’ focus on smart city technologies, GoKid expects sharing solutions to exponential growth of users in the US and beyond in the coming years. Lemcke has announced the app’s plan to take 5,000 car rides off the streets of NYC in 2016 by creating carpools for kids.

GoKid has already garnered attention at the 2015 National Shared Mobility Summit in Chicago and by placing as a finalist in the Women Startup Challenge NYC hosted by Women Who Tech and Microsoft.

The free app is available for iOS in the App Store.
